| This scene is of the Egyptian Goddess Isis seated on the Hieroglyphic sign for gold. Gold was considered to be a divine and imperishable metal and had connections to the sun because of its brilliant shine. Isis is the sister-wife of Osiris and had virtues of wife and mother. She’s also the mother of Horus (who’s the protector of the reigning King). She had magical powers to protect the young and help at times of injury. Here she is spreading her wings of protection.
