This is a natural deep brown leather Egyptian jewelry case, silver embossed with black highlights; approximately measures 9 in. Wide by 6 1/4 in. Deep by 3 in. Tall. Pharaoh Ramesses II, identified by the cartouches next to his face, Ramesses User-ma'at-setep-en-re, rides into battle at Kadesh against the Syrians in his war chariot. He wears the Khepresh war crown and draws a long bow against his padded linen jerkin while standing in his chariot, arrow quivers pointing back and front so he can shoot forwards or backwards with ease. The reins of his team of horses are tied around his waist leaving his hands free and the horses wear tasseled blankets and heavy harness with royal plumes attached to their manes. The Goddess Nekhbet flies behind Ramesses, holding an ankh and protecting him from danger. Prayers and blessings for the heroic Pharaoh as he defeats his enemies are written in hieroglyphics.
