2CO New Fraud Detection Program Upgrade: As a part of 2Checkout.com's (2CO) continuing commitment to increased credit card and consumer identity security, 2CO announced the new upgrade to its Fraud Detection Program on 18th August 2005.
The fraud detection upgrade means that customers can shop with more confidence. According to this new upgrade, all orders made by a customer are subjected to an automated fraud screening routine. This routine automatically examines each and every order placed. Suspect orders are manually reviewed by a trained member of 2CO fraud prevention team. Orders that are proven and determined to be fraudulent are cancelled. Orders that are not obviously fraudulent but are suspect are put in an "On Hold" status and are reviewed further. Accordingly, vendors should refrain from shipping any sale until they receive a confirmation email from 2CO that indicates a sale has been reviewed and it has a status of PASSED (fraud-free). Click here to learn about the upgrade to 2CO fraud detection program.
To better protect vendors and customers, 2CO has implemented MasterCard SecureCode since October 11, 2005 Click here to learn about MasterCard SecureCode.
We report all fraudulent transactions to the FBI Internet Fraud Complaint Center. We do not tolerate credit card fraud, which is a felony. If it is determined that an attempted order is fraudulent, we will report all information to the FBI, at http://www.ic3.gov/.
Protect Your Account from Fraudulent Emails: Scammers attempt to commit identity theft in a variety of ways, but most commonly through fraudulent emails claiming to be from your bank or another institution that already has your personal details, asking you to reply providing or updating these details.
Fraudulent emails are commonly asking recipients to click on a link contained in the email that will take you to a fake web site that looks very similar to a real website from the relevant bank or institution.
We encourage you to be cautious of emails that ask you to submit personal information such as your credit card number, your EgyptTalks password, or other personal information. If you are ever asked to provide personal or financial information to EgyptTalks, do not respond via email. Instead, open a new browser, type www.egypttalks.com, sign in, and go to "My Account" to update or review your information.
Never click on a link in an email if you are unsure of its origins, especially if the email asks for personal financial information.
EgyptTalks will not send you email that includes attachments and you will not be required to enter information on a page that cannot be accessed from the EgyptTalks site. If you receive a message that appears to have been sent from EgyptTalks that includes an attachment, do not open it.
When possible, you should avoid clicking links. Instead of clicking the link, you should copy the address and paste it into the Address/Location area of your web browser. While EgyptTalks may send email that contains links, the links are provided for convenience only. You will not be required to submit sensitive information if a direct link is provided to an EgyptTalks page.
