Sekhmet - A fierce warrior who defended the Ancient Egyptian God Re from his enemies, and also a gentle healer. Sekhmet had two distinct sides. She was the wife of the creator god, Ptah and the sister of Bast (Bastet). Her name meant 'she who is powerful'. The hot desert winds were believed to be the breath of this lion goddess.
